The picturesque village of Gardenstown is 1.5 miles from our site. It has a lovely harbour which is the hub of the village in the summer months with locals and visitors alike.

The village has a Spar Shop and The Wee Shop down on Main Street which has everyday essentials. Also on Main Street is the village Pub The Garden Arms Hotel.

There are excellent walks all around our area with amazing panoramic views.

St Johns Church, dated 1004, sits on the hill of Mohr overlooking the bay. Our small heritage centre located on the harbour is open in the Summer months from 2-4pm.

Joined by a footpath along the sea shore from Gardenstown is the tiny village of Crovie (pronounced 'crivie'). Dating back to the 18th century, residents frequently have their doorsteps washed by the sea, is just as appealing. Tucked against the steep cliffs, its so narrow that its residents have to park at one end of the village and continue to their houses on foot.

4 miles from our Site, Pennan is a tiny fishing hamlet just off the coast road, down a steep and hazardous hill. Consisting of little more than a single row of whitewashed stone cottages tucked between a cliff and the sea, the village leapt into the limelight when the British movie Local Hero was filmed here in 1983.

Make sure and take a selfie by the red phone box!

3.6 miles from our site we have one of the biggest RSPB Bird Colonies on mainland UK. Troup Head is a coastal reserve offering the visitor a walk over clifftop grassland full of wildflowers to view a wonderful seabird spectacle. David Attenborough described it as ‘World Class’.

This fascinating attraction leads you to discover the Moray Firth’s underwater habitats, with realistic displays taking you from the shoreline to the murky seafloor – you’ll meet hundreds of local fishy characters of all shapes and sizes. The aquarium is a 7 mile drive from our site.

Our nearest towns are Macduff & Banff 15 minutes away. There you will find supermarkets, shops, banks and restaurants. Also Myrus Driving Range; Stately Duff House & Duff House Royal Golf course; Banff Marina; Banff Links Beach; Banff Leisure Centre with Swimming Pool. Lots to see and do.
